Our Story
It all started in the Serengeti…
Enduata was born from a shared vision to create meaningful, breathtaking but low-impact safari experiences that benefit both local communities and wildlife — a camp envisioned and hosted by guides, with every detail crafted to prioritise the safari itself, and the comforts to complement it.
For Matt, Africa's unpredictability and the promise of new, unforgettable experiences each day were always the appeal. Returning to Tanzania with his family inspired him to combine hospitality with a place where others could share it. His meeting with Michael in the Serengeti brought the idea to life. In late 2024 they launched Enduata Safari Camps, opening their first property under Michael's leadership.

Our guides
Michael has guided in the Serengeti since 2013, with deep pride in his country and culture. Around him we have built a team of experienced chefs and hosts, and trained up newcomers to the industry to create opportunities for young people — eight so far.
Every team member is dedicated to exceptional service and a welcoming, friendly environment. Your guide stays with you from arrival to departure — you are never handed over.

Conservation
With our focus on light-footprint tented camps, local employment and local sourcing, Enduata exists to create a positive impact on the national parks and surrounding communities of Tanzania. We have eliminated single-use plastic across our camps and generate our power from solar.
By travelling with us, you play your part in supporting the preservation and growth of wildlife, habitats and the wellbeing of rural communities. As we grow, we will keep working closely with communities, park authorities and industry partners for the best possible long-term outcomes.

Community
Our tents are handcrafted and stitched in Arusha. Our wood comes from nearby timber yards and all camp furniture is made by local manufacturers. We partner with local firms for Wi-Fi, solar and plumbing, and we strive to source 80% of our food from surrounding towns and villages.
All of our staff come from villages and towns around the Serengeti, creating vital employment and income for rural communities. We celebrate Maasai culture in everything we do — from daily practice to the food on the table.
